When it comes to travel electric guitars, here, sound quality depends mainly of used pickups. So the size of the guitar body can be greatly reduced. Which in some cases may be accompanied, unfortunately, with less ease of use of the instrument .
Therefore, looking for this type of guitar you should think about whether it shape will fit you to play. Many times you will be forced to play the guitar on the strap.
What is important for this type of traveler electric guitars is that many of these guitars has been equipped with the preamp so you just need to plug in the headphone to guitar body. Many of these guitars has even delivered with some headphones.
Of course, headphones is entirely another matter . Everyone has their own preferences in this area. For some, comfort is important , for others the most important is the quality of the sound. Not always headphones attached to a set will suit you.
For what it is worth to pay attention when such travel guitar have preamp, is whether it is possible to plug in to it the auxiliary audio source , such as an mp3 player , tablet or laptop. If it possible, then you can play with pre-recorded backing track.
In my opinion, one of the advantages of such electric travel guitars is that they hardly make any sound , so you can practice them without scruple on a night in a hotel room or while waiting for a connecting flight at the airport.
Of course, this type of guitar will be no useful for the traveler who go hiking and want to play on campfire. Although these guitars are usually with batteries you don’t take with you amplifier on hikking.
On the other hand, lack of body in this type of guitar is that we are able to hold up the guitar almost in every case and do not have the slightest problem to carry it in your hand luggage . It fits in the overhead compartments on the plane.
Below the list of the travel electric guitars, I like most:
Traveler Guitar EG-2
This guitar despite its small size seems to be the most comfortable to play. It also has many amenities such as a preamp and aux input. What may seem inconvenient is to change strings or tuning. Below the official promotional video of the Traveler Guitar EG-2.
