Kenny Wayne Shepherd
One of the more known blues-rock guitarists of the young generation. Born in Shreveport, Louisiana June 12, 1977. It is self-taught. Knowledge of music gained listening to CDs from cavernous father’s collection. His father was a radio DJ and concert organizer. Kenny seriously interested in guitar at the age of 7. When he hears the playing of Stevie Ray Vaughan, quickly began to rip off another CD of Stevie. He an infinite number of times listening to recordings of Vaughan, Muddy Waters, Albert King and Alvin Lee, trying to decipher the note for note their guitar playing.
The first recording contract Kenny signed at the age of 13 years. Today has recorded many albums, five Grammy Award nominations, two Billboard Music Awards, two Blues Music Awards. It also has a record-time presence in the blues Billboard charts with the album “Trouble Is …”. The song “Blue on Black” from the album, spent 17 weeks as the number 1 on the rock list of the magazine! In 2008, Fender produced a Stratocaster signed his name.
