Wes Jeans Band – Sweet Little Angel

    Wes Jeans

Striking like a flash of lightning out of the piney wood region of East Texas, Wes ranks as one of the “Top Young Gun Guitar Players” – Guitar Player Magazine, March 2004.

Wes delivers a soul-drenched mix of high voltage, rockin’ Texas Blues. He commands the stage from start to finish and opens with a spirit of intensity that will surely grab you with his grinding rhythms and stinging leads allowing you a deep look into Wes Jeans’ Marshall, TX roots.
He is a blues-rock guitarist from Texas, whose first album “Hands On” was released in 2000. Jeans was heavily influenced by Jimi Hendrix as well as by fellow Texans, Johnny Winter, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Freddie King.
Probably the most amazing fact about Wes’s talent is that he came in second place in the Jimi Hendrix Guitar Competition in the mid-nineties after only playing the instrument for less than a year!
The next album “Forest of the Pine” he released in 2007. On this record, he also gets some guitar slinging & production help from Lance Lopez and Eric Gales. The guitars are rippin’ and catchy.
In October of 2009 Wes Jeans struck again with the release of his highly anticipated live CD “Live at Music City Texas”, recorded at a sold out show at the Music City Texas Theater in Linden on January 17, 2009. Excellent live recording with another great Texas gunslinger at his best. Plenty of searing guitar solos and not a bad song in the entire set. Guitarist and vocalist Lance Lopez also took part in the recording.

    Syd Hydro : Bass
    Adam Hagerman : Drums
Live in Juanita`s Ballroom, TX, 2005.

I really aren’t sure the amount of fans Wes Jeans Band have, but also for those entering into him who have heard his studio work, I’ll claim every song on below that shows up on his studio albums (as well as there aren’t lots of) is produced much better right here.

For basic rock fans, this is just a badass straight-ahead rock album with a little blues edge. Is worthy of a 5-star rating.

The greatest appreciation I can provide it: When an oblivious songs follower informs me rock is dead, it is just one of the albums I offer to them to demonstrate how wrong they truly are.

Blues is a musical genre known as the folklore of African-American musicians. Its origins are associated with the southern states of the USA, that is the region conventionally called the “deep south”. The very name of the genre (sadness, despair) is related to its nostalgic form, also in the textual layer. Blues pieces touch male-female relationships as well as feelings and emotions (love, loneliness, faithfulness, jealousy). However, blues performers often sing about freedom, work and travel. The songs also feature social criticism relating mainly to racial inequality and political issues.

Many artists are inspired by blues music and combine it with other styles. In this way, such musical mergers as punk blues, soul blues or blues rock. The popularity of this genre in the USA has led to the emergence of regional varieties, such as Louisiana, New Orleans, Texas and Detroit blues. There are also factions characteristic of other countries – British blues and African blues.
