Jeff Healey Band
Jeff Healey Band was a group founded by Jeff Healey at the age of 17. Initially, it was named Blues Direction. The group recorded the album See the Light for the record label Arista Records. From this album comes the first hit single “Angel Eyes”. Another song “Hideaway” was nominated for Grammy in the “best instrumental” category. In 1990, the group won the Junno Award for the best performer of the year.

Jeff Healey played in a very mature way, but he did not lack youthful madness and unpredictability. He maybe violated the rules set up once by the pioneers of blues. But he doing this with an amazing flair. He perfectly controlled the timbre, sound, and dynamics of the playing, moving smoothly from sharp, rock riffs to blues wailing. His guitar could sadly squeeze in a minute, then knock you on your knees with a deep and melodious riff.
