Dave Stewart
Dave Stewart – English guitarist, singer and producer, born in 1952 in Sunderland. He made his debut in the early 1970s in the Longdancer formation. At the end of the decade, he met Annie Lennox, with whom (and Peet Coombes) they formed the band The Tourists.
In 1980, Annie and Dave, who were already a couple, left The Tourists and formed Eurythmics. In the first half of the 1980s, the group became the most popular new wave band both in Europe and in the USA.
In parallel, Dave acted as a producer. In 1990, Annie announced a 2-year hiatus from playing, but in 1989 Dave recorded the soundtrack “Lilly Was Here”. A year later, he founded the band Spiritual Cowboys, which released two albums. In 1995 he released his first solo album – “Greetings From the Gutter”.
John Mayer
American singer and guitarist from the blues and rock circles. He started building his position in the music market in March 2000 with his appearance in South by Southwest, where he caught the attention of Aware Records. He signed a contract with it in early 2001, he released the album “Room for Squares”, available only on the Internet. A year later, he received a Grammy Award in the Best Male Pop Vocal Performance category for the song “Your Body Is a Wonderland”. In the same year, a recording of his concert in Alabama appeared, entitled “Any Given Thursday”.
In 2005, he started cooperation with B.B. King and Eric Clapton and jazzman John Scofield. He also took part in the tour of the legend of the genre – Herbie Hancock. Although he had a reputation for being a sensitive singer and songwriter – now he was also seen as a great accompanist guitarist, in whose playing you can hear the manner of Jimi Hendrix, Robert Cray, Freddie King, or, and what was the greatest compliment for him, his idol – Stevie Ray Vaughan.
In the spring of 2005, he founded the band – John Mayer Trio. The band included bassist Pino Palladino and drummer Steve Jordan. In October, the trio opened a Rolling Stones club tour, and in November, they released the live album “Try!”.
